Ningbo Mushi, the inaugural project of Vanke's "Shi" series, embodies a vision of crafting serene, artistic communities immersed in nature. The design pursues a dual experience: "secluded privacy" and "a ritualistic journey home." An understated entrance, screened by layered greenery, replaces grandiose gateways, ensuring privacy and a tranquil arrival. To counter the cramped scales of large communities, we introduced the "Water among the Woods" concept. A continuous water system forms the spatial backbone, organically linking building clusters and functional areas into a cohesive landscape.Within the aquatic realm, winding paths meander beneath metasequoias and willows. Their vertical trunks and filtering canopies soften the surrounding high-rises, drawing eyes upward to the foliage and downward to the reflective water, fully immersing residents in nature. The "Breezy Lawn" is a central open space seamlessly connected to play areas and social platforms. Its name comes from the building layout that guides wind across it. Linked to a secondary courtyard by a landscaped corridor, it forms a continuous landscape sequence.Corridors are redesigned as multi-functional spaces, not just passages. Their gently curving paths, lined with wooden seats and pergolas, encourage pause and interaction. This project transforms functional landscapes into deeply human-centered environments, redefining community living through a balance of seclusion and connectivity.
