The project is a comprehensive renovation of an ancestral home, envisioned as a warm and enduring sanctuary for family reunions across generations. Rooted in emotional significance, the design goes beyond physical transformation to reinterpret the meaning of “homecoming,” creating a living environment that supports connection, memory, and continuity. Guided by the philosophy of “minimalism in form, richness in spirit,” the design balances modern functionality with a deep sense of cultural belonging.

The spatial experience begins with a carefully choreographed entry sequence, where interlocking volumes, soft lighting, and a suspended glass-enclosed fireplace establish a sense of ritual and welcome. Transparency and layered sightlines—enhanced by elements such as a glass elevator—create visual continuity while inviting exploration.

At the heart of the home, a six-meter-high living room forms a central gathering space defined by openness and clarity. Structural elements are minimized to achieve visual purity, while natural light is precisely orchestrated to animate surfaces and materials throughout the day. The arrangement of furniture encourages flexible interaction, supporting both intimate family moments and larger social gatherings. Subtle insertions of natural elements and curated artworks enrich the space without overwhelming its calm character.

Materiality plays a key role in shaping the atmosphere. The interplay of wood, stone, and soft textiles creates a layered sensory experience, where textures and light interact to produce warmth and depth. Functional areas such as the kitchen and dining space adopt open layouts to enhance communication and usability, while maintaining a refined aesthetic.

Private areas, including the master suite and children’s room, are designed with adaptability and long-term use in mind. Emphasis is placed on comfort, flexibility, and user-centered details, allowing the spaces to evolve alongside the family’s needs.

Ultimately, the project reflects a holistic approach that prioritizes livability, emotional resonance, and enduring quality, transforming the house into a meaningful vessel for everyday life and shared memory.
