On Moonrae, the Flexible Street reimagines Moonrae Creative Village through a continuous Multi-Function Metal Line inspired by the district’s metalworking heritage. Extending from streets into building entrances, alleys, and residual spaces, the line integrates water, light, drainage, wayfinding, and flexible public programs into a single architectural system.
The intervention changes throughout the day. During working hours, water and misting elements improve street conditions and support industrial activity. At night, reflected light and illuminated gates transform the same infrastructure into a more visible and immersive pedestrian environment.
By connecting workshops, cultural spaces, and underused pockets, the project creates a flexible spatial framework that shifts between production and culture, utility and atmosphere. Rather than replacing Moonrae’s industrial identity, it builds on that identity to support new forms of public life.
