The interior design project draws inspiration from Master Hsing Yun’s calligraphy piece “Contentment is Wealth.” Rooted in Japanese aesthetics, the space reflects the deeper meaning of contentment through its thoughtful composition. The design’s focal point is the elevated tatami area behind the living room—a dedicated meditation space where abundant natural light enhances the warmth and tranquility of the space.

In interpreting the aesthetic style, the designer pursued a balance of modern simplicity. Subtle details such as wooden grille and metallic accents create a distinctive visual identity—neither overly traditional nor excessively Westernized. The color palette is anchored in gray, white, and soft purple, complemented by warm gray wood textures and silver-gray metal details to add depth and refinement. The tatami area features a grounding linen shade, framed with deep wood tones to define the space clearly. Meanwhile, the TV wall, treated with silver leaf, subtly reflects light, embodying an understated elegance that perfectly captures the philosophy of “just the right balance.”
