Situated at the intersection of agricultural land and urban development, the newly constructed Environmental Protection Bureau, Yunlin County seamlessly transforms local cultural elements into a modern architectural language. Drawing inspiration from the structured patterns of farmland, the architect reinterprets these linear forms through façade frameworks and a vertical greening system, breaking away from the conventional authoritative image of office buildings. This design fosters harmony with the surrounding rural landscape while serving as a transitional link to emerging urban developments.
The interior design further echoes the communal spirit of traditional rural courtyards (chéng), with a central plaza designated as the primary space for human interaction. The architectural massing, layered like a village settlement, blends modern urban functionality with rural aesthetics, symbolizing a bridge between the past and the future.
Guided by the principles of ecological integration, sustainability, green architecture, and smart management, the project incorporates resource circulation strategies to reinforce its commitment to environmental responsibility. As a model of eco-intelligent and sustainable architecture, it not only upholds local heritage but also sets a precedent for future green developments.
