Green space is an indispensable part of urban life. In modern cities, green space is valuable while scarce in urban areas. Residents endeavor to find parks, open spaces to get rid of the concrete jungle they are surrounded by in daily life. Nevertheless, city dwellers have to commute to the city for work and opportunities.

Considering the modern way of work and life. The design aims to provide a prototype to rethink the urban lifestyle. By introducing green space to a commonly developed mid to high-rise office building, the prototype redefines the working space by linking it with a new type of urban landscape. Working space and green landscape, the two contradictory terms, come together organically to create an unwinding place for people. It could be used by 9-to-5ers working in the building, or it could be commuters trying to unwind after work.

The prototype also tries to bring a brand new spatial experience in terms of circulation. Landscape is interpolated as a green belt on the trail that wraps the whole building. A continuous green trail is set up from the ground level to the roof for people to meander. Not only can they climb their way up to exercise and unwind, the platforms in between also stimulate all kinds of activities for gathering and sharing. Sustainability is also considered by using adjustable fins and grating to avoid unnecessary heat gain inside the building. Moreover, the building is supported by a core and column structural system, which allows open air from all sides that facilitates ventilation.

In general, the architectural design meditates on the relationship between city dwellers and green space. It aims to provide a new urban lifestyle that draws attention to urban land use, avoiding overexploitation of land while championing sustainability.
