Designed by Maestri Studio for the Kips Bay Decorator Show House Dallas, Le Salon de Musique is a culturally layered entertaining space that channels the grandeur of eighteenth-century France and the tranquility of East Asian aesthetics. Inspired in part by Eddie Maestri’s transformative visit to the Château de Gudanes, the room pays homage to a time when music, conversation, and opulence flowed freely through lavish salons.

Maestri’s design weaves these influences into a fresh, contemporary expression. An Eastern-inspired palette of rusts, ochres, and neutrals flows through the space, introduced through curated textiles and grounded by a hand-tufted rug. Cherry blossom–like forms in the pendant light, paired with refined materials from Asia and Europe, deepen the atmosphere of serenity and intention.

Vibrant wall coverings infuse the room with movement and boldness, balanced by quiet geometric furnishings and layered window treatments. Art Deco–inspired elements—a custom metal fireplace screen, curved burlwood wall panels, and brass accents—nod to the Jazz Age and its spirit of luxurious entertaining. These details don’t just decorate; they amplify the space’s purpose as a music lounge designed for gathering and relaxation.

At its heart is the Arcana by Maestri mantel, carved from solid stone. Like the room itself, it balances simplicity with strength, reflecting the studio’s philosophy of architectural clarity and lasting impact.

Le Salon de Musique is more than a showcase—it’s a refined intersection of cultural memory and modern artistry. From château to cherry blossom, it speaks to the way design can transcend borders and time periods, creating a space as inviting as it is inspired.
