This project is positioned as a haven in the city, centered around the concept of a 'mini vacation,' creating a place within the bustling city where people can pause, relax, and rejuvenate.
The design breaks away from the traditional hotel framework, elevating accommodation into a hybrid of a tea culture immersive experience center and a creative lifestyle space, making every stay a brief yet deep 'urban escape.'
The overall architectural style draws inspiration from local residences in southern Shaanxi, with blue tiles, yellow clay walls, and wooden beams and columns reflecting the warmth and simplicity of traditional Ankang architecture. Slate paths, low eaves, and dim lighting combine to create a subtle and reserved Eastern aesthetic.
The garden-style layout leads visitors along winding paths and scenic spots, connecting courtyards, water features, and indoor spaces to create a strolling experience that is 'quiet but not lonely.' A dedicated tea pavilion with water features and a circulating waterfall forms a spiritual anchor in the space—the 'Stream and Mountain Journey' installation. The sound of flowing water and the aroma of tea allow travelers to unwind both body and mind in this small yet immersive setting.
Here, architecture serves as the container, tea is the medium, and the space becomes a vessel for healing—not just a place to stay, but an immersive journey into the aesthetics of life in Ankang.
