The store is located on Zhongyang Street in Magong, Penghu, an area with over 400 years of history. The Minnan-style buildings on the street reflect the architectural style of the Ming and Qing dynasties, showcasing a rich historical heritage. The second store of the brand "Time of the Sea" combines Japanese style with traditional Minnan architecture. Using wood tones, rattan, white mosaic tiles, and brushed wood veneer, the design creates a calm and intricate atmosphere, evoking the warmth of visiting grandma's house. Cabinet doors feature sleek grid designs that double as handles, enhancing the cabinets' three-dimensionality and texture. The stacked cabinets above the counter use push-open doors with rattan inlays, providing ventilation and visual appeal, enhancing the nostalgic feel. The design skillfully manages space proportions and uses materials such as rattan, quartz stone, solid wood panels, and brushed wood veneer, showcasing the designer's expertise. The lighting design uses simple recessed lights and track lights, with wood grain pendant lights highlighting the counter's design details. The rear space features walnut-colored bookshelves and an island counter displaying local literature and cultural products, enhancing brand impressions. Despite limited space, the second-floor teaching area is efficiently arranged to meet the owner's needs for traditional Chinese music education. Materials used in the project, including solid wood panels, brushed wood veneer, system boards, metal hardware, and rattan, are recyclable and environmentally friendly, reducing environmental impact and demonstrating a commitment to sustainability. Operating on weekend afternoons, the store offers a warm and harmonious atmosphere with soft sunlight and adequate lighting. Customers are greeted by an enthusiastic owner, various cakes and desserts, and a comfortable, retro art space. The layout provides ample space for browsing, offering a tranquil and relaxing shopping experience. This project aims to promote local revitalization and strengthen the connection between people and the island of Penghu. While Penghu is known for its beautiful seas, this store also highlights its rich cultural heritage, hoping to remind visitors of the island's unique traditions and history.
