The project is a newly completed apartment. The homeowners favor Japanese minimalism and hoped for a home that naturally slows the rhythm of daily life, rather than a space driven by functions or formal expression.
The design takes “the rhythm of living” as its core concept, responding to the subtle changes in how people walk, pause, turn, and store belongings throughout the day. Through a consistent material language and careful proportion control, the space refrains from demanding visual attention, instead accompanying the residents as traces of everyday life gradually accumulate. Rather than pursuing strong stylistic symbols, the design is grounded in quietness, continuity, and long-term livability, allowing daily life to remain steady and rhythmic.
The highlights are concentrated in the integrated elevation design between the entryway and the living room. An extended cabinetry wall serves as the primary spatial axis, consolidating storage, concealed doors, and circulation definition into a single system. The cabinetry proportions are slender and restrained, while rattan cabinet doors introduce a breathable rhythmic façade, allowing large storage volumes to recede into the background rather than appear heavy.
