Circle & Garden

Located in Linkou, New Taipei City, the project spans approximately 72.7 square meters, serving as the residence for a young couple, four cats, and four geckos. Beyond being a place of rest, the home needed to accommodate differing daily routines, work needs, and a growing collection of GK figures.

Without altering the original floor plan significantly, the design team rethought the space around how each resident lives: a double-sided entry cabinet remedies feng shui issues, a natural camphor cat tree is integrated into the TV wall, and a glass-enclosed study preserves light while keeping incompatible cats separated. Large figures are showcased in the study and hallway corners according to scale, and power outlets and monitoring setups for the geckos were seamlessly added mid-construction. Milky brown, off-white, and wood tones run through the entire space, integrating storage, displays, and pet amenities into a unified design. Post-completion, the cats freely navigate the perches and overhead walkways, allowing complex, diverse needs to find their rightful place.
